ERIC RUSKE (French horn) won the 1986 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, the 1987 American Horn Competition, and the 1988 Concours International d'Interprétation Musicale. He has performed as a soloist with the Baltimore and Milwaukee symphonies, The Cleveland Orchestra and the Boston Pops, and on tour with the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He also toured and recorded extensively during his six-year tenure as hornist of the Empire Brass Quintet. Ruske has been presented in recital in London, Beijing, at the Louvre in Paris and the Kennedy Center in Washington. An active chamber musician, he has appeared with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Festival de Musique in St. Barthlélemy, the Evian Festival, and Festival Pablo Casals in both Puerto Rico and France. His discography includes horn concerti of Mozart, Strauss and Glière; virtuoso transcriptions for horn and piano; and a disc of solo horn repertoire.
