From the Duke University Chapel in June of 2013 comes a concert featuring an acclaimed choral ensemble from Durham. Their program contains a world premiere by North Carolina-based composer Dan Locklair, “Bond and free,” with text from the poem by Robert Frost and dedicated to the ensemble’s conductor, Rodney Wynkoop. They also sing music by Scottish composer James MacMillan in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting, and a choral work by Englishman Herbert Howells written in memory of John F. Kennedy. Then the program shifts to Columbia for a few selections from another concert from the School of Music at USC featuring favorites from Smetana and Respighi.
