Daniel Phillips It's commissioned chamber music for strings and winds on this week's program... Along with violin, viola and cello, there's room for some piano, flute, clarinet and voice. A flute-playing royal patron made Mozart's Flute Quartets possible, and jazz royal Benny Goodman commissioned Bela Bartok to write Contrasts. And Stephen Prutsman and long-time friend Dawn Upshaw perform a song cycle called "Piano Lessons" based on the poetry of Billy Collins.
