Enescu: Sonata for Violin and Piano, No. 3, Op. 25 Livia Sohn, violin Inon Barnatan, piano
Close of show - Lisa Simeone
We return again to the Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, South Carolina for a concert featuring renowned cellist, Alisa Weilerstein, in Chopin's virtuoustic Introduction & Polonaise Brilliante. The program is headed up by a rare Viola Quintet by colonial American composer, Johann Friedrich Peter, and closes with George Enescu's most frequently performed Violin sonata: No. 3, "Dans le charactère populaire roumain." Additionally, we jump back to a Spoleto Festival 2000 performance of a familiar Schumann chamber piece.
