This all-French program, recorded in March of 2010, is performed by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra with some emerging young classical music talent as soloists. Harpist Hannah Blalock of Matthews, NC shimmers in Debussy’s suite of dances for harp and orchestra, while cellist Julian Schwarz, son of conductor Gerard Schwarz, shines in the concerto by Saint- Saëns. Greensboro native Stefani Collins gets her moment in the spotlight with two other works by Saint-Saëns, and joins Schwarz for an encore. Meanwhile the orchestra under Dima Sitkovetsky is showcased in two atmospheric pieces by Ravel.
